For me, plant-based eating depends upon finding in-season produce.  Sure, we live in a society where we can find bountiful fruits and vegetables year round in our supermarkets.  But for optimal flavor and nutrition, we should try to eat what nature provides to us – and at the time it is provided.  If you find yourself wondering what vegetables or fruit are “in season” at any given time, check out this handy chart:
